Operated in collaboration with Bushtracks Africa, the historic steam train has added another departure to its weekly schedule to meet the growing demand for the train experience during the 2026 peak travel season.
The Royal Livingstone Hotel serves as the exclusive gateway to this historic locomotive journey. From April 1 to September 30, 2026, guests can embark on this five-course fine-dining odyssey three times per week from Livingstone, with departures on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. From October 1 to March 31, 2026, the schedule reverts to two departures per week.
From Zimbabwe, the Bushtracks Express operates every Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday from April 1 to September 30, 2026.

The Royal Livingstone Express is a seamless extension of the hotel’s refined service, inviting guests to step back in time. Boarding the traditional steam train directly from the hotel, guests can take in sunset views over the Victoria Falls Bridge before enjoying a five-course fine-dining experience, complemented by wine — a rail journey that blends fascinating history with impeccable service.
Beyond the train experience, the hotel offers a selection of picturesque riverside venues, along with a range of adventurous activities such as white-water rafting and swimming at Devil’s Pool. These experiences, including the train, can be arranged through the Activities Desk at Reception.
