September 18, 2025 – Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia, the recently opened five-star hotel on the banks of Porto’s Douro River, introduces Boa Vista Terrace by Nacho Manzano, a new dining destination that blends contemporary gastronomy with panoramic views of Porto and its postcard-perfect landscapes.

Led by Chef Nacho Manzano, holder of three Michelin stars at Casa Marcial in Asturias, Spain and known worldwide for his inventive take on Iberian cuisine, Boa Vista Terrace presents a menu that reimagines Atlantic flavors with sophistication and creativity. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted to engage the senses and create a memorable dining experience. The welcoming yet refined atmosphere, enhanced by natural light, fine materials, and a spacious terrace overlooking the river, makes it ideal for both relaxed lunches and intimate dinners.

The menu highlights seasonal, locally sourced ingredients with dishes designed for sharing. Signature tastes include Chef Manzano’s renowned Rooster Rice, where tender rooster and aromatic broth combine for a rich, creamy dish that balances rustic tradition with modern elegance. Other highlights include Codfish Confit with Pil Pil and Spinach; Iberian Pork Shoulder with Endives and Potatoes in a Green Sauce; and Roasted Veal Rib with Café de Paris Sauce—all prepared with precise technique and the highest-quality ingredients. Guests with a sweet tooth will enjoy the indulgently creative desserts, including Caramelized Coconut French Toast with Vanilla and Licorice Ice Cream; and Custard Flan with Citrus Yogurt Foam. A curated selection of Douro wines from estates like Quinta de São Luiz and Quinta da Boavista complements the menu, elevating the dining experience.

Boa Vista Terrace has also launched an Executive Menu for weekday lunches. Priced at $47 USD per person, the prix fixe offering includes a starter, main course and dessert (choice of two from each section), a glass of Kopke selection wine, and complimentary hotel parking. The menu changes daily, offering fresh and creative options such as Codfish Tortilla, Sea Bass Ceviche, Grilled Veal Rib, Braised Octopus, and Cauliflower with Smoked Sardines–making it an ideal choice for a business lunch or a relaxed midday break.

The restaurant and bar showcase the most extensive collection of Kopke Ports in the world, including rare and exceptional bottles such as the Kopke Harvest 1934.

With a career defined by innovation and a deep respect for ingredients, Chef Nacho Manzano brings his distinctive culinary identity to Boa Vista Terrace, where every dish is designed to tell a story and elevate the dining experience.

About Kopke

Established in 1638, before the demarcation of the Douro Wine Region in 1756, Kopke is the oldest Port Wine House in the world. Founded by Nicolau Kopke, the company evolved from a diverse business to become a renowned producer of Port wine. The purchase of Quinta de S. Luiz in 1922 consolidated its role as an important Port wine producer. Kopke is one of the main brands of the Sogevinus group, accounting for over 75% of sales in foreign markets, namely the Netherlands, USA, South Korea, Denmark and the United Kingdom.

With its extensive library of old wines, which includes remarkably rare White and Tawny ports, this has long established Kopke's reputation as the maker of some of the best Port wines.

About Nacho Manzano

Born in 1971 in La Salgar, Nacho Manzano began working in his family's restaurant, developing a deep connection with the flavors and traditions of his homeland. In 1993, together with his siblings Esther and Sandra Manzano, he transformed Casa Marcial, once a simple local restaurant, into one of the most acclaimed restaurants in Spain. The first recognition came in 1999 with the first Michelin star, followed by the second in 2009. In 2024, he culminated with his third star, establishing himself as an international reference. Along the years, Nacho and this family have expanded his activities with Gloria in Oviedo and Gijón, Narbasu Restaurant and Hotel (1 Green Michelin Star), NM restaurant (1 Michelin Star) and Catering Manzano.

Nacho Manzano’s cuisine is a tribute to the land and the dishes enhance the local ingredients: his vision is not limited to the product but includes a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach. Manzano actively works with area producers, improving the short supply chain and promoting the Asturias region. This earned him the green star. Manzano’s efforts have earned him numerous awards, including the Premio Nacional de Gastronomía al Mejor Jefe de Cocina in 2021.
