Minor Hotels Announces the Debut of  Tivoli Hotels & Resorts in Mexico with Tivoli Mérida Residences

Madrid, March 6, 2025 - Minor Hotels, a global hotel owner and operator with more than 560 hotels in 58 countries, including Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Indian Ocean, Europe and Americas, has announced the premiere of its Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand in Mexico, specifically in the city of Mérida, the capital of the State of Yucatan also affectionately known as the White City. Set to open in early 2027, Tivoli Mérida Residences—made up of 69 private branded residences-will mark the arrival of Tivoli's first project in Mexico, and the third in Latin America, where the brand currently operates two hotels in Brazil.

This new five-star complex will be in the Paseo Montejo neighborhood of Mérida, which was recently chosen as the “Best Destination in Mexico” at the Food & Travel Reader Awards. Famous for its colonial architecture and vibrant traditions, Mérida is a city rich in history and culture, celebrated for its hospitality and as being the financial canter of the Yucatán Peninsula. Most recently, Mérida established itself as an important tourist destination, attracting travelers from around the world looking to explore its archaeological wonders, its culinary delights and its lively cultural scene.

Twenty minutes from Mérida International Airport, the luxurious hotel will comprise of 69 private branded residences, a restaurant, an outdoor pool with a bar, a high-end retail store, a gym, a spa, beautifully landscaped gardens and an intimate patio. The project is part of the Casona 333 complex, a historic monument and stunning residence dating back to 1903 that has been lovingly restored to house the main reception, the restaurant and boulangerie, a piano lounge and some commonly shared amenities, such as the garden and patio, perfect for private events.

The development is owned by Designia, a leading real estate developer with a deep knowledge of the Mexican southeast and iconic projects in the residential, commercial, industrial, tourism and mixed-use sectors.

As a pioneer in the concept of branded residences, this latest announcement reflects Minor Hotels’ continued commitment to growing in the segment by adding Tivoli Mérida Residences to their portfolio of branded residences, which include Anantara Ubud Bali Resort and NH Collection Ras Al Khaimah Al Marjan Island Hotel & Apartments, among others.
