Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel Unveils an Exciting Summer Season of Culinary Delights, Celebrating Coastal and Convent Life

Amalfi, Italy, May 27, 2025 – Perched dramatically above the glittering Mediterranean Sea, Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel invites guests and visiting diners to experience the best of the season with the official launch of two exceptional culinary offerings: the newly reimagined La Locanda della Canonica, and a bold new menu at its fine-dining destination, Dei Cappuccini Restaurant.

For Epicureans in search of fresh, local al fresco delights or refined culinary artistry, the hotel’s two signature restaurants promise a summer season filled with flavor and exciting events.

With a reimagined identity, La Locanda della Canonica welcomes diners back to savor authentic Mediterranean flavors served cliffside. Guests take their seats on a sun-soaked terrace or under the new shady pergola, which allows for all-weather dining, and linger over leisurely lunches of pasta, vegetables, and seafood. Highlights include bruschetta with tomatoes from the hotel’s garden, linguine with clams and Amalfi lemon, and seared octopus with Cetara anchovy sauce and hazelnuts.

As the sun sets, the air fills with enticing aromas from the grill. Diners can choose from the catch of the day, lobster and squid, slow-cooked pork ribs or T-bone steak, all served with perfectly seared vegetables. Meanwhile, carefully crafted gourmet pizzas on ancient grain flour dough bases are topped with exquisite local ingredients, including goat cheese from the Lattari mountains, Cetara anchovies, and Re Fiascone tomatoes. With the grill sizzling and the pizza oven firing, oceanside evenings crackle with energy at La Locanda della Canonica.

This summer, the restaurant will also play host to a vibrant new event series: The Yellow Night Party. Starting on June 21 to celebrate the first day of summer – these events promise live music, DJs, local specialties, cocktails, and a yellow-themed dress code for an unforgettable celebration of the Amalfi lifestyle. Advance booking is recommended.

For guests seeking a more formal, fine-dining experience, Dei Cappuccinicontinues to evolve its "future-heritage" concept under the leadership of Executive Chef Claudio Lanuto and Sous Chef Giovanni Paradiso. Set on an elegant terrace with sweeping sea views, the restaurant blends the flavors of tradition with contemporary culinary creativity.

Chef Claudio draws inspiration from the fascinating history of the hotel – a convent since the 13th Century, where monks cared for the grounds and lived off the land. Like the guest rooms set in friars’ quarters and the spa treatments that integrate local essences, Chef’s bold new “Convent Menu” is informed by the hotel’s unique setting. It is a multi-course tasting journey inspired by monastic traditions and seasonal ingredients from the hotel’s own convent garden. Highlights include Amalfi Coast linguine with tuna bottarga and sardines, a tubetto pasta dish with clams, lemon, and potatoes, and an unmissable Amalfi lemon cake. The journey concludes with the hotel’s house-crafted Amaro Dei Cappuccini.

A la carte highlights at Dei Cappuccini include the now-iconic cannelloni, invented at the hotel in 1924, and a showstopping spaghetti dish created in partnership with ACARBIO (Associazione Costiera Amalfitana Riserva Biosfera). Made with heirloom Re Fiascone tomatoes grown in the Lattari Mountains using ancient cultivation techniques, the exquisite dish features spaghetti in a tomato sauce that is prepared tableside, accompanied by bread for “scarpetta” and “pappa al pomodoro” on the side. This sustainable collaboration highlights both local biodiversity and culinary excellence.

Coming up in August, Dei Cappuccini will host an exclusive four-hands dinner bringing together Chef Claudio and a yet-to-be-revealed Michelin-starred guest chef for a once-in-a-season gastronomic event. Details will be announced soon.

Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel welcomes diners with two different yet complementary dining experiences, from the casual elegance of La Locanda della Canonica to the haute cuisine of Dei Cappuccini. Local gastronomes and Amalfi Coast connoisseurs can choose the culinary offering to suit their mood. Guests staying at the hotel for two nights or more can enjoy a distinct dining experience for each evening.
